If you plant a group 6 in early to mid April they will come off late September and do most their filling in August and early September. Plant them in late June and they come off early to mid November and do fill in late September and October.

Yes the early planted will blow the late away if you get 6-8" in August and early September but that's not likely.

My plan is beat the heat and dry with something group 3 or less planted early as conceivable that should fill in late June early July or see if they can pass through the heat and dry with a late group 5 to a 7 planted late June early July.

Maybe split the field like that and tell us how it goes. Or do thirds and have a full season planted early on a third of it as well.
