I think the thought of planting an early variety is what gets ya on the yields. I planted 4.1 in northern Oklahoma and produced 33/acre. Had an uncle that planted 3.7's the same time I did that yielded 18/acre and a buddy of mine just a few miles north that planted 4.5 and 4.8's on the same date as me yielded 6-7 bushels more to the acre then I did. I think theres a pattern as everyone had rain this year, as well as the heat.
