Milford, IL | We have been with Samaritan for approximately two years. Heres how the numbers break down for us
24mo x $405/month Samaritan 'monthly share' = $9720. We had one claim total in those two years to the tune of about $5,000. Deductible is roughly $350. Total out of pocket expenses for our family of three, including monthly shares have been right at $10,070.
Had we stuck with our former BCBS policy we would have had 24mo x $705 premium = 16920. One claim of $5000, not quite to the deductible limit per individual on our former policy. Total expenses = $21920.
We saved $11,850 over two years.
We do participate in the Save to Share program but we have not had a substantial claim and have not been asked to pay a substantial portion of anyone elses large claim either.
Yup, theres room for fraud if somebody wants to cheat. I'd wager it would be much simpler to defraud BCBS, Samaritan was pretty thorough when we made a claim. | |
