Scranton | Organic corn production met demand in the US until around 09, when corn spiked and a portion of farmers decided they could make enough money the easy way....so they switched back to conventional. We have been behind the 8 ball since as organic demand has risen double digits most every year.
I farm for profit, I'm not afraid to admit that. I farm organic because it is the best return on my labor, by far. I have also NEVER bad mouthed chemical farming(*which I do as well)...in fact I have quite often defended it and GMOs online and in real life....its too bad most chemical farmers in this thread can't say the same about their fellow farmers who happen to farm organically. | |
