Subject: RE: 7200 no tilling beans, stalks causing problems

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

I just finished beans today, also (June 7th 1:00 AM)

Mother Nature even washed the planter and tractor on the 45 minutes drive home.

Barely had enough beans, lower population to 100,000 on last 2 acres and made it.

This is a good thread, as I need to do "something" different too. (Maybe that belt and pipe thing, for angling stalks) I probably put on one drive chain about 5 times this year(chains and sprockets are only 2 years old. Might look into removing 1/2 link, for tighter chain as Ty mentioned).

Currently, I use mostly row cleaners, BUT I need Sunny, windy weather for all that stalk debris to "flow thru"(drier material, usually can't start before 10AM and get shutdown by 9 to midnight, due to damp stalks); I have 2 row with No-till coulters, and the new 13 waving coulter, was just hair-pinning, too much, so I got totally flat blades, and ran them a little deeper and they are working better (but it was drier, after I installed them, so that might be the difference)

This is a 19" row planter (for beans)
