For no-till, in general, I want the stalks as tall as possible behind the combine -- we go to great lengths to achieve this. Otherwise, the soil doesn't dry out, and you have to cut thru all that with the openers for the next crop. Not to mention leaves & husks blowing off the field. Keep that stalk intact as much as possible!
