Matt - Thanks for your replies, think I will try running corn head higher, in doing so I'm sure your not a fan of stalk stompers? Seems like that would be defeating the purpose.

As far as what we are doing, it is 100% no till, we are planting into fields like the second picture posted above. I'd have to say the strip till picture looks really good, I'm sure there isn't any planter problems going through that.

Some of our hill ground I would double plant, seems like when you either split the middles or go back at an angle your always fighting stalks that have been leaned over by the planter, but still tall enough to really cause problems going back the second time. They are just the wrong height and just the wrong angle to cause lots of problems.
