worst case is when a Dr. or Lawyer buys a farm because most times as soon as value increases much they flip it or raise rents.

why is that a bad thing? If Dr or Lawyer put the farm on the market that just allows farmers another chance to buy something they passed on earlier.

with rents??? why shouldn't a Dr or Lawyer get a rent that is on par with what the land is worth? If they are asking to much they will not be able to find a renter. If someone is willing to pay the rent then they are not asking to much.

Bad thing is some investors are in a 2-5 yr. time frame thinking high rents, who cares who farms it,no improvements or even upkeep and new tenants every year. Whereas the UK firm with a 25 yr. + plan, so far seems to be fair on rents, doing tiles, ect. as required and if you don't screw up its a long term rental deal like Holland where it will be multi generational leases ..... main point is we farmers should try to own the ground as opposed to being a sharecropper or tenant farmer which is just one step ahead of being an employee of the landowner
