Correct, and even if corn stayed at $7 there were going to be people that spent $8/bu to produce corn. A few more yrs of $7-8 corn and $800-$1000 rents/$20,000+ land would have been the norm in some areas of the corn belt.
That's just how it works. Easy come, easy go.
Guys that can't hold onto money can't hold onto money no matter how much they're taking in.
