It has been my experience that a PC is less expense than a MAC. If you are willing to learn a few simple concepts much of the expense some experience using PC's can be avoided. So much of the vulnerability of MS products to cyber-corruption is simply avoided by integral settings made if knowledgeable during the intial boot process.

http://www.techrepublic.com/article/10-things-you-should-do-to-every-windows-pc/5906772  This outlines the procedures making your new PC capable of avoiding most of the problems you experienced and when used in conjunction with the best practices link from another post in this thread you can expect not to have those issues.

All those conditions being applied for no extra $ is what many PC users completely miss in their rush to get started and online.

So, Microsoft has long had the capability built in. Yet kept it hidden from 99% of computer users. Why would the average user know that one must know to search out someplace like, "techrepublic.com" to find the answers to keep PC ownership affordable?

I'll add this to Microsoft's long list of sleazy, dirty business practices they have used to steal from, and quash, other developers; in their path to market dominance.
