Wood needs oxygen, heat and biological activity to breakdown. Those three things are generally absent 15' in the ground! I'm sure someone knows why but once it's charred and has that crust on it I think it's even more impervious to rot.

I'd say you're going to see settlement from the backfill settling around the debris you buried as well as just vertical settlement unless you pack it well. Probably not much going to happen from the wood breaking down.
