coast of Maine
My neighbor buries most of the bigger poor burning stumps.Right in the fields he is creating.Usually chose a slight depression. He digs down 16 ft or so and bails them in.The only issue we have when we crop it is for the first few years there will be holes about like a woodchuck hole where water runs down into the voids in the root ball.Once in a while a bit too big, tillage seems to fill them well.Way easy removal of masses of stumps.
