My brother was in the excavating business. He dug the basement for the new village hall twenty years ago. I drove dump truck for him on that job and hauled the dirt away. The lot had been a car lot when I was a kid, has always been a vacant lot for my entire life. He dug up a huge stump. So big it wouldn't slide under the end gate on the truck. That thing looked like it had just been buried yesterday.
