| Urea lightly worked into the soil is about as close as you can get to NH3 from a nitrogen cycle behavior stand point.
Super U also works well but it’s crazy expensive.
Also keep in mind that some of the benefit of NH3 comes from the tillage aspect of the shank. Kinda like a light chisel pass that helps drive roots down and also gives a bit of nutrient release.
Hard to beat NH3. Fall gas was $0.20/lb. Guessing dry N this spring will be pushing $0.50/lb. $60/ac higher cost and yield penalty sure adds up | |
