Subject: RE: who grows corn without using NH3?

Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle

Only a couple guys left doing NH3 here, we quit many years ago, safety and needed to update equipment was the reason we stopped. Dont miss it for a second. Took alot of hp to pull and always left a trench that would wash down the hills. Had 32 sprayed on for awhile, didnt like doing that when it doesnt rain for a month. Built a sidedress bar, can cruise along at 10mph putting down 40 gal, carry 1100 gal on the tractor and bar.

Havent given up any yield, probably gained some because were not opening that ground up deep like we did pulling NH3.

Never did fall NH3 anyway, was always spring or sidedressed, quit the sidedress when we went no till because the tanks would slide downhill and wipeout corn when the ridges werent there to hold them in the bottoms.
