Lime doesn't work that way most places. We soil test every 3 years and if I applied the needed rate 3 years ago chances are it will need another ton. Pennsylvania is tied for the most acidic rain in the country and I was told by a national forest employee the lowest ph rain ever recorded in the state was about 40 miles north of me
