Middle of the middle west | A foot is about the size of a foot or the length of your forearm.
An inch is about the width, or up to the first knuckle on you thumb.
A yard is about a step.
Common, useable units. Unless you carry around a metric tape, imperial units are much more common and useable.
I'd be more inclined to use the metric system if it was base 12 instead of base 10. Much more useful. See measurement of time for example. |
