Subject: RE: Abandoned township road ownership

central - east central Minnesota -

Getinbypd1 - 9/30/2020 23:07 There were no utilities to the property , line stopped at the hunters driveway. I'll start by township level , then county to see what people have to say. The roads in this area all changed in the late 30's and earily forty's from trails to straighter roads on section lines. This particular road had no one living on it for over 30 years and then the township took it off the books at the hunters driveway back. A culvert bridge was wash out in the earily 60's , nobody lived on either side of the bridge , just lots of woods. Funny how things change ,now that woods is sought after for housing. Thank you for your replies Paul

If local Town Supervisor will not help - get the State Association of townships involved. They will provide direction and help to the local board. Some boards are more involved then others and some help more then others - just depends on your location . . . . . .

May have to get legal help - get someone that specializes in Town Law. Most states have a few attorneys that know your states Town law.
