Turn off the TV. No, really. Shut off the stupid box for an evening. Then make it two, then three, then a week and so on. There is more bad influence than you can ever imagine coming from that thing and leaving it off allows you to reflect and wind down from the day slowly.

If you have family that insists on having it on, then maybe you need to withdraw to someplace quiet for a while before turning in. I firmly believe that we cannot tolerate the constant bombardment of our eyes and ears and that we need to disengage from it.

My TV has not been on since July and prior to that I last had it on in early March. I don't miss it one bit! I have listened to a lot more music from prior times.

Engaging the Lord in prayer during the quiet time is therapy beyond compare. Sometimes I just like to have a conversation with Him. He'll listen to whatever is on your mind at any time.
