SE IL | I agree with a lot of what you said about so many different managements needed for different areas. When it comes to growing corn and soybeans in the midwest though, the difference is much less. In the near future instead instead of a full blown takeover something more like "contract farming" may be more likely. Input suppliers get you all the inputs and take the grain, you get paid X amount to raise the crop.
Part of my original post though was about removing all the subsidies to farmers and what the result would be. Subsidized crop insurance plays a huge roll imo in keeping the above from happening. | |
