SE IL | As always there has to be a balance, but imo doing as you say would be the end of rural america. Large corporations would control the majority of land in short order. No farmer could compete with the likes of a Nutrien or Bayer who controls such a large part of the input chain. We likely are on this path anyway just slowly it down. FWIW though I'm not in favor of the massive handouts of the last few years I like the crop insurance. Its not like Ag is the only industry that gets subsidized. | |
