The same way Walmart ran all the small retailers out. I like capitalism but in its purest form monopolies can happen quickly. That is only good for a select few. Then you have the others screaming for socialism.


That’s not how it works. Walmart took out small retailers by coming in and building a new big store on the edge of town. It’s not that simple with farmland, you can’t just build more newer, nicer acres like you can with retail square footage.

How much farmland do Bayer, Nutrien, etc own, in this country or in any other without subsidies? Nearly none. Farmland is a low return investment. Corporations don’t accept low returns. They divest assets that don’t have a high enough return, not buy more like farmers do.
