Pittsburg, Kansas

60 grams carbs and my NET goal for the DAY is under 20. Yikes!

Serving size makes soooo much difference too.

They say if you eat by the food pyramid a person will average around 300 grams carbs per day. I bet that is way low for many people. Add in an extra desert or a can or two of pop and a snack cake or candy bar and it could easily be over 500.

Carbs are not bad for a metabolically healthy person (I'm not). The problem is too many carbs eaten too often keeping insulin extremely high all the time leading to insulin resistance. Once a person is insulin resistance then is when the problems really begin because it snowballs.

Being more reasonable with carbs early on in life could help a person never get in metabolic trouble like I did. Most will not listen or change their habits though.
