Subject: Tesla and electric car questions

Southern MN
I have been wrong as can be about Tesla stock. Thank goodness I didn’t have enough money or guts to put my money where my mouth Is or I would be in deep trouble now.
I guess my question is has there been any talk of replacing the lost gas tax income as it looks like the country is going to be going electric in a big way whether we like it or not. At some point in the fairly near future this will have to be addressed I would think as electric cars and even electrical heavy trucks appear. Also any idea what the cost will be to charge these cars at a charging station as I am assuming free charging will not last forever. If electric becomes a decent percentage of the transportation in this country what will happen to electric rates? I like to do a lot of reading but have never seen these issues given more than a small mention. Just curious if anyone had any insight how these issues will be addressed.
