If all the cars are to be charged at night wouldn't the solar and wind be greatly reduced generating power so we would need a whole lot of base generation at night plus when cloudy or no wind days. So wouldn't we be burning fossil fuels at night to charge everything up at night raising the cost of electrical power? So where is the environmental benefits of electric cars because of the environmental cost of mining rare earth metals and the pollution of battery disposal? Did anyone ever figure how much fuel energy is used that would need to be replaced by generation of power.? We're not even close to generating enough electrical power let alone distribution to replace fuel. The environmentalists will not allow power plants to be built so all we will have is a bunch of ev vehicles with no power to charge them.
