Northeast Nebraska | I completely agree. I have a 3 year old supposed to start preschool this fall. A mask to him will be a toy, a Halloween mask, or a Kleenex. It will be that way for much of elementary students.
My wife is an elementary school teacher. With all the kids getting no school work done at home and those that need the well checks to make sure they are okay, she is hoping something as simple as masks will allow the students to be in school. A teacher could enforce it by what they think the students can handle.
Given the choices of distance learning, 50% there alternate days, or 100% there with masks, I would choose masks. There effectiveness is likely not great with kids, but school like 2019 doesn't seem to be on anyone's option list. | |
