NCMD | Our district has said 1/2 the class will go to school on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday is a teacher planning day and Thursday and Friday the half that stayed home on M/Tu come in. while the students that are at home will have distance learning. As an AG teacher I can tell you distance learning ain't it for shop classes. This spring my kids learned how to weld and use the torch from YouTube and reading. Now if and whenever we get back I will have to reteach them how to weld and use the torch hands-on. Distance learning is good for some classes but for hands-on classes it presents a real problem. Getting the students to do the work is another thing. And with the numbers going back up and the experts saying it is spread in the air more than they thought, I really doubt if we go back this fall. The National FFA Convention will be virtual this fall. Strange times in education strange times in the world. | |
