Western New York | hard to get excited about doing the schooling at home again. lack of rural internet - NY has been promising rural broadband for years. some areas cell phones don't even work. my secretary didn't work for 3 months because of having younger kids. boy did we miss her. the households of 50 years ago don't exist anymore. if only one parent worked i don't think it would be as huge of an issue. but now with both parents working 40+ hours per week or many single parent households it's almost impossible for child to get the attention that they need. i don't know any parents that didn't have to work through the shutdowns this spring. i'm afraid of how far this is setting our kids back. | |
