He did not say he was not profitable at 230. And herein lies the problem: If at 230 he has a $50 an acre profit, but, by spending another$75 an acre, he goes to 285 BPA, his gross dollar increase is $165/A (55 BPA * $3/ B), equaling a net of $90/A on the increase, or total profit of $140/A. Why would any one not do that?
