North Central Illinois | COP is always an issue but you are glossing over the real problem. The government has destroyed a huge part of our markets. You can cut COP all you want but when we keep growing big crops and the government keeps destroying markets the COP can’t keep going down enough to fix things. Some of you don’t seem to realize that we NEED other countries like China to buy our grain. Without them we are screwed. This isolationist crap is taking us down a rathole that it will be difficult to climb out of. We were preached to for years about developing new uses and markets for our grain. Along came ethanol and China to fill that square and now the government has seen to it that both of those end users are sketchy at best. Where else do you propose that we get rid of 15 billion bushels of corn and 3 billion bushels of beans every year? | |
