West central IL | I agree. Most farmers I know have a lot of pride in their farm, family, and operation, and rightfully so. I'm not saying they make bad financial decisions as a habit, but taking a check vs putting the work in and raising a crop, most guys will raise a crop. Despite what everyone likes to repeat on here of the cliche of a farmer working a month in the spring and a month in the fall, most guys I know on family farms are some of the hardest working guys I know. It's a family tradition passed down to them through the generations, and one of the reasons they still exist as family farmers today. | |
