Central Indiana
Interesting discussion in our area. Last year I read how everyone should take PP. Yet, when I talked to insurance company, they said document well so you don't get denied. Umm, ok, well I can't really take the chance on getting denied when neighbors are mudding things in. Our planting window opened up about May 30th last year and our final plant date for corn is June 5th. Could we have taken PP? Our area this year is 1/2 done or more depending on who you talk to (some are done, some not even close). It can vary quite a bit in a few miles. Can we just "decide" to take PP? I don't get it. We are probably still several days away from fieldwork, even if we miss the several chances of rain in the forecast. It is frustrating, our agent said document well, because last year you could have claimed PP, but maybe not this year. I think PP is some sort of urban legend that doesn't really exist :)
