| Here in extreme SE Kansas that decision is being made for us today. We’ve had less than ten days total suitable for planting and fertilizing since mid March. May 15 was our final plant date and it’s raining hard right now. Our area probably got 1/2-2/3 planted but 2/3 of that needs replanted but most will probably get left at this point with half a stand. We will have to take a small PP payment and hopefully plant those acres to soybeans. But with tons of acres of muddy, weedy fields and a muddy wheat harvest approaching getting it all planted to something will be difficult. We are lucky to have a long growing season here so we’ll plant soybeans until mid July if we have to. | |
