I have a lot of sealed bearings on combine that I have never done that-and I know some are 10+ years old as I replace them the first time-thinking things like fan.
I wouldn't do that to a new sealed bearing-just a place for grease to get out.
if the grease is coming out them maybe it will keep the dirt out at the sametime
Anyone else do this to bearings?
