4020 is OK, I prefer red but if you have to choose between red and green probably a 4840 will be the most bang for the buck.
I know way more hp but I bet the initial cost is less than a nice 4020.
You do not have to buy equipment that is a load for it. But you will have enough tractor if you need to pull a 4-700 bushel wagon. ( or may be a couple)
Remember you do not have to run it wide open. Throttle back and it will not take much more fuel than the 4020.
If there is an Allis dealer around an 8050 makes a cheap running nice tractor.
856 or 1256 would be cheaper to buy and run than a 4020.
