Hastings, Florida
One more advantage to having a land line E-911 system is reverse messaging. They can push a button at the sheriff's office dispatch center, and can alert everyone in a certain area of a problem by calling them. Example.Several weeks ago, here in my area, a little girl was taken from her bed at night by a stranger about 3: 30 a.m. At 9 a.m. the next morning, every home phone within 3 miles of the little girls house rang, with a recorded message for folks to keep an eye out for her. This is also useful for tornadoes, escaped prisoners, gas leaks, etc. Immediate notification of everyone in a certain area.
