We will always have a land line phone here because our tin can and string phone ( cell phones) don't work worth a damn here. We had better service and eq 5 years ago than we do now with Verizon. I am convinced that one of the reasons they make cell phones so small is so that if a disgusted customer tries to throw it through their window it will just bounce off.
Here is something interesting on our 911 system. They are trying the scare tactic of drumming up money by telling the agency's that are dispatched by them they will not dispatch them if they don't pay for that service. 911 has been on the ballot the last 2 times for a increased operating budget and been voted down both times, mostly because the increased money isn't for operation but instead for buildings and the like.
