E.Central MN | Had a JD finger planter(old) and now a White 6100(not as old). I do miss the ease with which I could turn off the row units and take off the seed boxes on the JD. Depth adjustment was also quicker on the JD. One negative on the White 6100 units is the grooved bearing mount for the depth wheels allows the shaft to wallow out the mounting arm and you can't adjust the depth wheel to stay tight against the opener. New depth wheel arms are expensive. That being said the White does a pretty good job without a lot of messing around and if you're buying used based on price then the White is a good planter for the money. | |
