nwpa93 - 4/15/2019 03:53 I may be young, but I do not understand why farmers expand when they are experiencing a bull market. It was a buyers market up to recently. Now it is a sellers market. There isn't a logical reason to buy into a market when its in a period of highs, especially when it is very unstable.

Because it's easier to finance an expansion when you are making money.

What else would any farmer do with profits other than expand?

I know there are lots of things that can be done with that money (including saving it for later) but most farmers (including hog guys) take any profits above and beyond living expenses and invest them back into their farm.
