. My other suggestion comes from a months ago agtalk discussion. Everyone can get the subsidized protection on say the first 20% of your acres or an arbitrary number like 400 acres. after that no insurance and we're on our own.
I am vehemently opposed to means testing of any kind in government farm programs. Sure it sounds bad when a wealthy land owner such as the Buffet Family gets a subsidy but the whole point is to subsidize production for a cheap food supply not to subsidize individual producers based on size. |
