It is fair if the strip that did not get the starter fert had the fert value applied in another manner. Otherwise the strip without starter was shorted fertility compared to the strip with starter. Patrick
This illustrates my point exactly: even though the non-starter strips had less total fertility applied, those strips still performed as well as the strips with starter, that had MORE nutrients applied.
The advantage was given to the starter-applied part of every test, and still, the non-starter strips almost always performed as well, sometimes better. Does not make sense, but after trying to justify to myself for 25 seasons why I had to keep using starter, I finally gave up, and concentrat d on planting corn when it is time to plant corn. |
