You're not wrong, and I see your point. I don't market a calendar year, I market a crop. Based on what you're saying I would say that's the biggest difference. If I'm marketing my 2012 corn crop, I'm looking at the Sep 12 contract (market was inverted and burned up). If I'm marketing my 2018 crop, I'm looking at Sep 2019 contract because of big carries.
