Subject: RE: Prices out through 2021

west central MN

I think I am a little confused on selling 2020 corn for only 15 cents less then July. Couldn't you sell both crops now and then when you get it in the bins roll it to the July for probably about 25 to 30 cents more with the carry and also hopefully gain 15 to 20 cents on the basis? The 45 cents gain from the carry plus the basis is big for me. I figure about a penny a month for interest if I take out a CCC  loan. I also would not take my NC check until after the 1st of the year so 6 months of storage would only cost me about 6 or 7 cents in interest. My corn is going through the dryer and into the bins regardless of when it gets sold. Drying charges around me are considerable higher then drying it yourself.
