NW Indiana | Agreed but it looks to me like if you are willing to sell the carry than storage isn't near as appealing as most think. If I am willing to sell 19 crop currently I would likely be able to roll out to July of 2020 around 4.30 minus fees. I could sell fall of 2020 for just 15 cents less without any storage cost. Granted I am sure most could pick up another 15-20 on basis but still even at 30 cents minus storage cost I don't consider that very good for having to hold corn 8-9 months.
The fear of missing out on a big run up cost us way more money than constantly selling the carry would gain us during these tight times. | |
