Subject: RE: People wonder .....

People wonder where they'll get the electricity capacity to run electric vehicles? The answer, they already have it. A 60 watt tungsten light bulb used 60 watts, a 60 watt LED uses 9 watts, 1/7th the power. As we change out the lighting infrastructure that will create a lot of extra capacity. The power companies are looking for someone to sell the extra power to. They shut down almost all (?) the coal fired plants here and nobody noticed. Now, the nuclear plants are questionable simply because the nuclear power-generated electricity is so much more expensive than solar or wind.,
The coal fired plants have either been converted to NG or held as standby emergency backup for the nuclear plants. At one big former coal-fired plant near here, they converted two boilers to NG and spin the other generators as buffers for the reactive power control.
