Interesting, that actually sounds sort of like a.....uh...what's it called.....oh yeah....a railroad. Autonomous vehicles running on dedicated paths.... Trucks still haul ALOT of freight, and clog up the interstate highways pretty good. Fully electric, driverless trucks on dedicated roads could handle the bulk of what’s being hauled the way we’ve been doing it for the last 75 years. And most likely with far fewer accidents/fatalities, and much less cost per mile.
