West Kentucky | For the most part, residue is much easier for planters with even decent attachments on it to handle here when residue has been sized. The only time we have problem with planters are when stalks are left too intact and don't break down much over winter. On the other hand, our wheat drill does work much better when we are planting shortly after the combine if we leave stalks in tact. With that said, your stalks in the spring are likely more similar to our stalks in the fall. By the time ours overwinters, they are pretty brittle. | |
