Subject: RE: Chopping corn head raising bean yields (how)

In Beck's trial were those beans planted into tilled ground or no-till/standing stalks?

If planted into standing stalks I could see faster emergence resulting in a better healthier stand and ultimately better yields.

We plant 20" beans into standing 20" corn stalks, our combine rides over corn rows as well as the grain cart does.     The stalks disappear much faster where they are mashed down into the dirt and the beans emerge faster and grow faster in those areas as well.

I'd really like to ride all of the stalks into the dirt without actually driving over the whole field.   Would like to try a Devastator but not sure they have them for the 20" heads yet.
