Subject: RE: Chopping corn head raising bean yields (how)

NE IN
We bought a chopping corn head this year. Had a non chopper with devastaters. Liked it but didn't like the added weight plus I think it was hard on our folding head. Decided to go with chopping. Love it so far. Won't go without now. Fields look much nicer. Chiseled a field last week, and you might think it was bean stubble if you didn't know it was corn. We think the field will dry out quicker in spring than normally does. We also think our field cultivater might go thru standing stalks now if we need to. The smaller residue has to plant better, and I can tell you our stand and emergence this past year behind the devastaters was nothing to brag about.
