Dunn Co Wisconsin
Ok I'll say it. David Brown was one tough little tractor. The 990 we had came out of a feedlot and looked like a junk yard escapee when we first saw it. Dealer promised he would go through it all and fix everything up. He made good on the promise. I don't know the hours when we got it, since the tach was broke, but Im betting a minimum of 5,000 hours. We ran it about 15 years. Never burned oil, never did anything to the engine. Only problem was twice some nut worked it's way loose in the hydraulic pump and they had to fix that. Used it every day for loader tractor, ran the blower on 60' silos for years, and general all around chore tractor.

Now I'm not saying it was handiest or best designed machine ever, but it did the job. The 1690 I now have on the other hand, has got to be the goofiest designed thing ever, but you can't seem to kill it....
